Erdoğan, Aliyev Meet in Ankara for Cooperation Talks
The presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ilham Aliyev) met today in Ankara for talks to expand relations between their two countries.
It’s Aliyev's first visit to Turkey after he was sworn in on February 14 for another term following his election win.
Aliyev flew to Ankara from Germany where he attended the Munich Security Conference.
Turkey and Azerbaijan are expected to sign a string of deals during Aliyev's visit, including on trade. The two countries want to expand trade volume from US$7.6 billion last year to at least $15 billion.
