Armenia to Buy French Sniper Rifles
Armenia signed several military cooperation agreements with France on February 23.
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, during a press conference with visiting French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu, reiterated that Armenia has the right, as a sovereign country, to purchase arms from anyone it wants and stressed that such equipment is intended solely to boost Armenia’s defensive capabilities.
The two ministers didn’t elaborate on what these contracts entail.
According to Le Figaro, Armenia signed a contract for the acquisition of precision/sniper rifles with the French company PGM on Friday as well as a letter of intent for the training of Armenian officers.
