Greek Defense Minister Pays Tribute at Yerevan's Genocide Memorial

The defense ministers of Armenia and Greece met today in the Armenian capital and agreed to deepen military-technical cooperation between their two countries.

Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias arrived in Yerevan today and is scheduled to meet with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan following his meeting with his Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan.

The two defense ministers, who last met in Athens in December lasty year, also discussed regional security matters.

Dendias also visited the 1915 Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan today and paid tribute to the memory of the victims.

Papikyan, at a press conference following today’s meeting, hinted at the possibility of creating a four-party defense cooperation framework with France, Greece and India. Armenia has already created a similar set-up with Greece and Cyprus.

Dendias said Greece supports the conclusion of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
