Border Deal Protest March Reaches Yerevan

Marchers opposed to the government’s handover of border regions to Azerbaijan have reached the outskirts of Yerevan.

Scores of people have joined the march led by Armenian Apostolic Church Tavush Primate Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan who describes the movement as a struggle for truth and justice.

These photos, taken May 8, show the marchers making their way to the town of Abovyan, sixteen kilometers northeast of Yerevan.

A rally is scheduled in Yerevan’s Republic Square today.
