Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Sahiba Gafarova met on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the VI World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in Geneva on May 16.

While a statement released by Simonyan’s office offers no details of what the two discussed, the Azerbaijani press reports they explored opportunities for the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Armenia to support the ongoing peace process between the two countries.
