TASS quotes Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Nurgaliuly Tasmagambetov as saying the Russian-backed military alliance expects Armenia will clarify its position vis-à-vis CSTO.

“We expect that the political leadership of the republic will clarify the prospects of its relations with the CSTO. It would be beneficial for all participants of our union, first, for the full planning of future joint activities," the Kazakh official stated.

In May, Armenia announced it would no longer make financial contributions to CSTO. This follows Armenia’s decision to suspend its membership in CSTO.

The Armenian government has criticized CSTO for not fulfilling its security obligations considering Azerbaijan’s seizure of Armenian territory.
