Late May flooding caused widespread destruction in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces.

The town of Alaverdi and the Karkop community were especially hard-hit.

The Akhtala bridge, a major transit route for mining and flour exports, was destroyed.

The local railway was also damaged.

Despite ongoing emergency work, the extent of the flood damage is still unclear
