Armenian Security Chief in Switzerland for Ukraine Peace Summit
Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan is in Switzerland today to attend a conference that aims to draft a roadmap to end fighting between Ukraine and Russia.
More than ninety countries have gathered at a resort near Lucerne to hear the ten-point peace plan proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russia and China, among other nations, decided not to attend the summit.
Grigoryan’s office, in a statement, doesn’t provide further details.
Armenia, with reservations, in March 2023 signed a declaration issued by the Summit for Democracy that condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine and “demands that Moscow immediately and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces from Ukraine.”
In a February 2024 interview with Britain’s Daily Telegraph, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia was not Russia’s ally in its war against Ukraine.
