Armenian Highschoolers Win Three Bronze Medals at Astronomy Olympiad

High school students from Armenia won three bronze medals at the 17th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (IAAO) that ended yesterday in Rio de Janeiro.

232 students from fifty-three countries participated in the Olympiad.

The Armenian team was led by Hrant Topchyan (Yerevan Institute of Physics) and Karen Baghdasaryan (YSU).

The Armenian team won one silver and one bronze medal at last year’s Olympiad in Poland.
