Red Cross Reps Visit Armenians Held in Baku

The Azerbaijani media reports that representatives of the  International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Armenian detainees in Baku this October.

They include former Nagorno-Karabakh presidents Arayik Harutunyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukasian; former state minister Ruben Vardanyan; parliamentary speaker Davit Ishkhanyan; former foreign minister Davit Babayan; defense minister Levon Mnatsakanyan, and former deputy commander of the Armed Forces Davit Manukyan.

While Azerbaijan has confirmed it is holding twenty-three Armenians, Armenian Investigative Committee Chairman Argishti Kyaramyan says thirty-two more Armenians were captured in the 2020 Artsakh War.

In 2023, Human Rights Lawyer Siranush Sahakyan said that according to official data, fifty-five Armenians are detained in Baku and there is no information about another eighty.
