$550K Cocaine Bust at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport
Armenian law enforcement, acting on a tip from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, stopped a South African citizen at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport and found more than $550K worth of cocaine packets stashed in his abdomen.
The alleged drug trafficker, who flew to Armenia from Brazil, was arrested at the airport and then taken to a Yerevan hospital where x-rays revealed the drugs.
Police also arrested two Iranian nationals residing in Yerevan as accomplices.
