Armenia Wants $6 Million Returned for Failed Snoop Dogg Concert
Armenia wants the US$ 6 million it spent to organize a concert featuring American rapper Snoop Dogg to be returned.
The concert, originally scheduled for September 2023 in Yerevan, was postponed when Azerbaijan invaded Nagorno Karabakh that very month.
The Armenian government today announced that talks to reschedule the concert in August 2024 failed and blames the organizer Doping Space, a company founded in July 2023.
Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, at a Yerevan press conference today, said agreements had been reached to reschedule the concert but were never implemented. She didn’t specify why.
The six million dollars (AMD 2.318 billion) was to pay the rapper’s royalties, concert security and insurance expenses, and provide high-quality technical equipment.
Those who purchased tickets have yet to get their money back.
