Oskanian Calls on American-Armenians to Boycott Pashinyan Meeting

Former Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian has called on Armenians in the U.S. to boycott a meeting today at the Armenian embassy in Washington D.C. between Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Armenian community representatives.

Oskanian, a vocal Pashinyan critic, in a Facebook post describes Pashinyan as a “failed leader under whose rule the Armenian people are going through the most disastrous period in their modern history."

Pashinyan is in Washington D.C. to attend the International Religious Summit (IRF) and the National Prayer Breakfast.

“I am writing to you regarding the invitation to meet with Nikol Pashinyan at the Armenian Embassy on February 3. This meeting is not just a diplomatic ceremony. It is a calculated attempt to salvage the leader’s tarnished reputation, which needs your audience. I urge you not to attend the meeting and not to become part of his desperate move,” Oskanian writes.
