
Yerevan Mayor, Asian Development Bank Rep Discuss Projects
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and a delegation led by Eugenue Zhukov, Director General for the Asian Development Bank’s Central and West Asia Department, met today in the Armenian capital and discussed the implementation of the Bank’s Sustainable Urban Development Program for the city.
The investment program targets a range of urban connectivity and mobility improvements in all parts of Armenia, aiming to improve transport efficiency, reliability, and safety, and reduce congestion.
Yerevan's priorities include the acquisition of 250 new electric buses and the reconstruction of depots, the establishment of a forest park on an area of about 230 hectares in the Dalma Gardens, the reconstruction of the Noragyugh district, the modernization of the Metro, the construction of the Tbilisi-Yeghvard road section, etc.
