Armenian National Assembly President Alen Simonyan today, in Strasbourg, met with French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet on the sidelines of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of the Council of Europe.

Simonyan, according to his office, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of France to Armenia, noting that the efforts of France to establish peace in the South Caucasus region are also highly appreciated.

Yaël Braun-Pivet reaffirmed France’s unconditional support for Armenia’s desire to achieve peace in the South Caucasus region and to implement democratic reforms in Armenia.

The two also discussed the plight of Armenian detainees in Azerbaijan.
