Yerevan Celebrates International Children’s Day
International Children’s Day is celebrated annually on June 1 in different parts of the world as an initiative for children’s well-being and rights.
Yerevan children marked the day by attending musical performances in the Armenian capital.
In Liberty Square, talented young singers from Yerevan and the provinces performed with famous opera stars, with the participation of the orchestra and choir of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
Children also availed themselves of Yerevan’s various fountains to beat the summertime heat.
Not to be confused with Universal Children’s Day, which is celebrated in November, International Children’s Day is almost identical to its counterpart, the only difference being that it is celebrated in June.
