
French Ambassador Opens Honarary Consulate in Goris
French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies today launched the opening of an honorary French consulate in the southern Armenian town of Goris.
Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan, Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan, and the Honorary Consul of France in Goris Carmen Apunts ceremonially cut the ribbon at the consulate.
On hand were Armenian Deputy FM Vahan Kostanyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, and Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan.
Ghukasyan depicted Goris as “the most Francophone town” in Armenia, noting the numerous cooperation agreements with French cities and regions.
French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies said the town is “very special” for France.
“Long live Syunik, long live Goris and long live the Armenian-French friendship,” the ambassador said according to ArmenPress.
