Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and visiting Council of Europe (CoE) Secretary General  Alain Berset met today in Yerevan and discussed Armenia-CoE cooperation, as well as prospects for expanding joint programs in the fields of democracy and the rule of law.

Pashinyan, according to his office, thanked the Council of Europe for its continuous support for the democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia.

Berset reaffirmed the Council of Europe’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Armenia and to support initiatives aimed at the development of democratic institutions and the protection of human rights.

The parties also discussed regional security and stability matters.
