Armenia Approves Signing of 50 Million Euro Loan for Syunik Province
Armenia’s government today approved the signing of a European Investment Bank fifty-million-euro loan designed to contribute to the country’s southern Syunik province’s socio-economic recovery and long-term resilience.
The bank’s Resilient Syunik Program will target different communities in Syunik that have been significantly affected by recent warfare, focusing on communities that are either hosting displaced people or recovering from the damage caused by the conflict.
The project will provide effective technical assistance and oversee the implementation and monitoring of sub-projects that will aim to improve infrastructure, particularly in the water, health and education sectors, to promote community resilience and economic recovery.
Investment will target the province’s drinking water, health and education infrastructures and related equipment.
