Yerevan: Folk Song and Dance Festival Draws Thousands
The “Gutan” (Plough) Armenian Folk Song and Dance Festival was held at Yerevan’s Cascade Complex on August 30.
Thousands attended the festival dedicated to the 120th anniversary of musician Hayrik Muradyan, who researched and collected hundreds of folk songs and dances, many from western Armenia.
Attendees broke into impromptu song and dance, accompanying the local groups performing on stage.
Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Grigoryan (Mro) is the festival’s founding director.
The festival was first held in 2014.
