Pashinyan Touts “Peace, No War” Agenda
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan has again declared that peace has been established between Yerevan and Baku.
Pashinyan, during a security conference today in Yerevan, said that Armenia has never been as secure as it is today and pointed to the August 8 agreements reached in Washington D.C. as the basis for his claim.
Addressing the Comprehensive Security and Resilience 2025 international conference, Pashinyan said the country’s military will no longer be employed outside the country’s border, as in the past, and will focus on defending the republic’s security.
Pashinyan, here, is referring to the role Armenia’s military played in supporting the fledgling Republic of Nagorno Karabakh/Artsakh for decades.
“We position our statements, aspirations, and goals within the boundaries of our internationally recognized territory of 29,743 square kilometers. We build everything, absolutely everything within the logic of our internationally recognized borders,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian prime minister argued that, in the past, , Armenia’s access to weapons and armaments markets was highly limited — not only geographically, but also in terms of availability.
“Today, our markets are essentially unlimited. Why? Because no country discussing military-technical cooperation with us must worry that the weapons could be used for illegitimate international purposes,” Pashinyan said.
