Yerevan to Get 45 New Trolleybuses
The Armenian government will spend AMD 2.138 billion ($5.6M) to purchase forty-five new trolleybuses for Yerevan and to replace 104 old elevators in apartment buildings.
A government press release does not break-down the costs for each initiative.
The government argues that trolleybuses run on clean electric energy and will help reduce air pollution in the Armenian capital.
The Yerevan trolleybus fleet mostly consists of new Chinese trolleybuses.
The government plans to use the new vehicles to expand the five routes now servicing Yerevan.
