Pashinyan, Aliyev Meet in Copenhagen, Discuss TRIPP Implementation

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met today in Copenhagen on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the European Political Community and discussed steps to implement the TRIPP project in Armenia designed to build a roadway linking Azerbaijan and its Nakhijevan exclave via Armenian territory.

The two, according to Pashinyan’s office, reaffirmed their readiness to continue working towards further strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on agreements reached in Washington D.C. on August 8.

Aliyev’s official website issued the same statement on the meeting, noting that the parties emphasized the importance of continuing to implement confidence-building measures and agreed to continue contacts.

The European Political Community (EPC) is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This year’s meeting will focus on how to strengthen Ukraine, the general security situation in Europe and how to make Europe stronger and more secure in the current geopolitical situation.
