Armenian Foreign Minister Says Georgia Will Benefit From Peace Deal

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, today in Tbilisi, said that the unblocking of transportation links in the South Caucasus will benefit all countries in the region, noting that Georgia will get a railway connection to the Persian Gulf.

"The unblocking of infrastructure between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the implementation of the Trump Road to International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) program on the territory of Armenia within the framework of the principles of territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, sovereignty and jurisdiction, will ensure mutual advantages, and what is most important, the benefits of peace and not conflict, and thus stability for the countries of the region," Mirzoyan said.

Mirzoyan, flanked by Georgian Foreign Minster Maka Botchorishvili, said that the opening of the Gyumri-Kars railway on the Armenian-Turkish border, together with Georgian railways, can become an important part of the Europe-Central Asia transportation chain.

Mirzoyan said he and Botchorishvili had discussed several issues during their meeting including cooperation in the executive and legislative sectors on multilateral platforms.
