Armenia, Türkiye, Hold 2nd Round of Talks on Reopening Kars–Gyumri Railway
Representatives from Armenia and Türkiye held a second round of discussions on November 28 aimed at rehabilitating and reopening of the long-closed Kars–Gyumri railway, a key step in the ongoing normalization process between the two countries.
The talks were held at the Akhurik–Akyaka border crossing between Armenia and Türkiye and in the Armenian city of Gyumri.
The tals follow agreements reached during meetings between the Special Representatives for the Armenia-Türkiye Normalization Process.
The Kars-Gyumri railway, when operational, would relink the two cities located approximately 48 kilometers (30 miles) apart across the border.
