Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and world champion weightlifter Nazik Avdalyan met today in Yerevan and discussed ongoing work to develop sports in Armenia.

Gyumri native Avdalyan, the first woman from Armenia to win a world championship in any sport, runs a foundation that aims to establish sports schools in Armenia designed to promote professional athletes.

Avdalyan won gold at the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships in South Korea and at the 2016 European Weightlifting Championships in Norway.
