U.S. Brigadier General Visits Genocide Memorial in Yerevan

A delegation led by U.S. Brigadier General Chris McKinney, Deputy Director of Partnering, Security Cooperation, and Weapons of Mass Destruction (United States European Command) visited Yerevan’s Armenian Genocide Memorial today.

McKinney laid flowers at the memorial's eternal flame.

McKinney was in Baku on November 30-December 3 and visited the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Emergency Situations for discussions with their Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Response units.

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan reports he also paid his respects at Baku’s Martyrs’ Lane.

Martyrs' Lane, or Alley of Martyrs, is a cemetery and memorial dedicated to those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January 1990 and in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War of 1988–1994.
