Pashinyan, German Business Reps Meet in Berlin

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting on December 9 with business leaders at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin, pitched Armenia as a country to do business with.

Pashinyan, according to his office, told the businesspeople that his administration is taking steps to improve the business environment for investors and that Armenia seeks expanded economic ties with Germany.

Pashinyan and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, on Tuesday, signed a joint declaration outlining the strategic agenda of bilateral partnership.

The declaration specifies the intended areas of cooperation between the two parties, encompassing politics, economic and trade relations, development and capacity building, as well as security and defense.

Germany is Armenia's most important trading partner within the EU.

Germany's Exports to Armenia: €433 million (2024), including vehicles, machinery, chemicals, and medical devices. Armenia's Exports to Germany: €121 million (2024), focusing on metals (copper, iron, steel), textiles (apparel), and diamonds.
