Ukrainian Drone Attack Over Moscow Forces Pashinyan's Plane to St. Petersburg
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan encountered a blip while travelling by plane from Germany earlier today to Moscow to attend a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, as well as an international conference on science and technology cooperation.
Pashinyan’s plane had to be rerouted to Saint Petersburg because Moscow’s airspace was temporarily closed, Pashinyan’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan wrote on Facebook.
While Baghdasaryan didn’t specify why Moscow’s airspace had been closed, it appears the disruption to air traffic was caused by one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks in recent times over the Moscow region.
The Moscow Times, quoting Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia, writes that operations at all four airports in the Russian capital were temporarily suspended.
Baghdasaryan writes that Pashinyan eventually flew to Moscow later today.
