The Ararat Artesian Basin is our underground wealth. For decades, we have been extracting more from it than nature can replenish, pushing it dangerously close to the point of no return. The problem is obvious, and the solution is simple and clear: we must preserve, accumulate, and save water. But putting this into practice is far more difficult, especially when resources are limited, data is incomplete, and oversight and management fall short.
