Pashinyan Pays Tribute to Fallen Homeland Defenders
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, together with the President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, today visited Yerevan’s Yerablur Military Pantheon to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenians who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland.
Last week, Armenia’s National Assembly Parliament adopted January 27 as the Day of Remembrance for Those Who Fell Defending the Homeland.
The new holiday aims to pay tribute to all Armenians who have given their lives throughout the nation’s history, rather than memorializing any specific conflict.
Pashinyan laid flowers at the graves of Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan and Andranik Ozanyan and laid a wreath at the memorial complex perpetuating the memory of the fallen freedom fighters.
