Pashinyan's Chief of Staff, EU Delegation Discuss Cooperation Prospects

Arayik Harutyunyan, PM Nikol Pashinyan’s Chief of Staff, met today in Yerevan with a delegation led by the Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Director for Political Affairs of the European External Action Service, Olof Skoog.  

The parties discussed the progress of Armenia-EU relations, the agenda of the recently launched strategic dialogue on political and security issues, as well as prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation were discussed.

Harutyunyan, according to his office, noted the steps Armenia has taken to strengthen institutional resilience and emphasized the importance of the EU’s continued support.

The parties also exchanged views on the preparatory work for the 8th Summit of the European Political Community and the first Armenia-EU Summit, which are scheduled to be held in Yerevan on May 3-4, 2026. It was noted that these high-level events reflect the growing mutual trust and strategic partnership between Armenia and the European Union.

The European External Action Service (EEAS) is the European Union’s diplomatic service. Since 2011, the EEAS has implemented the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy to promote peace, prosperity, security, and the interests of Europeans across the globe.
