Vance Says Armenia Is Beautiful; Announces Sale of Drone Technology

United States Vice President J.D. Vance described Armenia as a “beautiful country” today in a statement summarizing his talks with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan.

The two leaders announced that they had signed a Joint Statement on the Completion of Negotiations on the "1,2,3 Agreement" for Peaceful Nuclear Cooperation between their two governments that Pashinyan said “will open a new chapter in the deepening energy partnership between Armenia and the United States, and will contribute to the diversification of Armenia's energy resources by implementing safe and innovative technologies.”

Pashinyan said Armenia and the United States are committed to developing a mutually beneficial partnership in securing the extraction and supply chains of critical minerals and rare earths.

He added that relations between Yerevan and Washington are stronger than ever, adding that he hoped such relations will serve as a basis for expanding our future defense cooperation.

Vance announced that the U.S. will be selling Armenia new drone and surveillance technology worth US$11 million, noting that such military aid will bolster the peace deal Armenia and Azerbaijan signed last August in Washington D.C.

Vance emphasized the importance of Armenia being the oldest Christian country, noting that as a Christian himself he knows Armenia’s significance to the entire world.

Vance concluded by saying that both he and U.S President Trump are committed to this new partnership with Armenia.
