Pashinyan, European Commission Official Meet in Yerevan

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today met with a delegation led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission in Brussels. 

The body is responsible for the enlargement process of the European Union and for the European Neighbourhood Policy. The European Union over the years has expanded to 27 members from the first six Member States who signed the Treaty of Rome.

Pashinyan, according to his office welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and stressed the importance of the continued deepening of Armenia-European Union cooperation.  

Koopman reaffirmed the European Commission’s readiness to continue supporting the reforms being implemented in Armenia and highlighted the progress made in expanding the EU-Armenia partnership.  

During the meeting, the parties discussed current Armenia-EU cooperation programs, as well as future initiatives aimed at expanding economic opportunities, improving the investment climate, and strengthening regional stability.
