Armenian National Congress to Participate in June Election On Its Own

The Armenian National Congress (HAK), connected to former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan, has announced that discussions about forming an alliance with Samvel Karapetyan’s Strong Armenia party for the June 2026 parliamentary elections were unsuccessful. As a result, HAK will put forward its own list of candidates.

“The Armenian National Congress made all necessary efforts to create a grand alliance with the Strong Armenia party led by Samvel Karapetyan against the nation-destroying regime in the upcoming elections,” the HAK statement reads, adding that it did not set any preconditions for forming an alliance.

HAK did not specify why discussions with Strong Armenia failed.

HAK says it’s ready to cooperate with Strong Armenia and other opposition forces to form a coalition in parliament to save the country from impending threats.
