Catholicos Aram I, on April 7, hosted MP Taymur Jumblatt, leader of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party and MP Akram Chehayeb, former Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Learning, for a discussion centered on the internal and external challenges confronting Lebanon following Israel’s military invasion of the country.

Catholicos Aram I, according to his office, emphasized the imperative of preserving Lebanon’s internal unity.

MP Hagop Pakradounian, who represents the Armenian Bloc in Lebanon’s parliament, underscored the importance of strengthening the common ground among communities and political parties through continued dialogue.

MP Jumblatt relayed his father Walid Jumblatt’s greetings and agreed with Catholicos Aram I's concerns, emphasizing the importance of protecting Lebanon from threats and supporting the Lebanese Army as the country's guarantor of independence and security.

Also attending the meeting were MP Hadi Aboul Hosn; and MP Wael Abou Faour, Lebanon’s former Minister of Social Affairs.

A high-level delegation from the Lebanese Army also visited Catholics Aram I that day.
