Pashinyan, Estonian FM Discuss Expanding Cooperation
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met today in Yerevan and discussed steps to expand relations between their two countries.
Pashinyan, according to his office, thanked Tsahkna for Estonia’s role in the development of Armenia-European Union cooperation, including the effective implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia.
Tsahkna said that Estonia is ready to continue its assistance in advancing the Pashinyan administration’s reform agenda, as well as to promote Armenia-EU cooperation.
The Estonian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of holding the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan on May 4.
This high-level gathering will focus on regional security and cooperation, with invitations extended to leaders from Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
On May 5, the first EU-Armenia summit will take place in Yerevan, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations in particular connectivity in energy, transport, and digital. Participants will also discuss the progress related to ensuring peace, security, connectivity, and prosperity in the South Caucasus, as well as current global challenges, including the latest developments in the Middle East and Ukraine.
European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are scheduled to travel to Armenia for these summits.
