Public Television of Armenia Reports Cyberattack on Broadcast Infrastructure
Public Television of Armenia says it was recently targeted in a large-scale cyberattack on its broadcast and digital infrastructure.
In a statement released today, Executive Director Hovhannes Movsisyan said the attack was intended to disrupt coverage of the European Political Community summit held in Yerevan earlier this month, followed by attempts to interfere with the normal broadcasting of Public Television’s channels.
“Fortunately, thanks to the operational and technical measures taken, it was possible to prevent disruptions, and the attempted attacks did not have any significant impact. Law enforcement agencies are dealing with the incident,” Movsisyan said.
The broadcaster is owned by the Armenian government.
