PACE to Observe June 7 Parliamentary Election in Armenia

A 22-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Damien Cottier (Switzerland, ALDE), will travel to Armenia from  June 5 to 8 to observe the parliamentary elections alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The delegation will meet leaders of political parties represented and not represented in Parliament, representatives of the Central Electoral Commission, the Anti-Corruption Committee and the Information Systems Agency, and civil society and the media, as well as members of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, before observing the ballot on June 7.

A member from the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.

A joint press conference is scheduled on June 8 at 2 pm (local time) in Yerevan (place to be specified).
