Former Armenian National Assembly MP Rubik Hakobyan was arrested today in conjunction with an ongoing Investigative Committee criminal case.

A Hetq source says the case concerns Hakobyan’s alleged statements inciting hatred and discrimination.

An hour before the arrest, Hakobyan wrote on Facebook that police officers had arrived to detain him.

“The bloodthirsty Armenian conspiracy continues its atrocities. You two-legged monster, you will still answer for beheading Artsakh and thousands of soldiers to maintain your power, for wiping your and the enemy’s feet on the dignity of our state. Remember", Hakobyan wrote.
