Armenian Deputy FM, UNESCO General Conference Prez Meet in Paris

Armenia Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan and Khondker Talha, the President of the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO met on June 23, in Paris and discussed the key role of UNESCO in advancing peace, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development, highlighting the necessity of collaborative efforts in these directions.

According to his office, Abisoghomonyan briefed Talha on Armenia’s constructive, forward-looking agenda on international platforms.

They highlighted the unanimous adoption of the Education for Peace resolution, introduced by Armenia and passed by the UN General Assembly on June 4.

The landmark initiative aims to address the root causes of conflicts, foster mutual trust, and guarantee inclusive, safe, and quality education for all, especially children affected by armed conflicts and humanitarian emergencies.

The meeting also addressed international and regional security challenges, as well as the role of international organizations in that context.
