Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan today said that the government has spent AMD 97.4 billion (approximately $264.8 million) in payouts to 842,750 individuals enrolled in the country’s universal health insurance system launched on January 1, 2026.

She said that the number of health insurance beneficiaries has increased compared to January 1, reaching about 1.7 million today.

Avanesyan said that 8,399,491 services have been provided through the insurance system in the first six months of 2026.
