Humanitarian Aid from Armenia Handed Over to Lebanon
On July 9, an official ceremony was held at Beirut’s port to hand over humanitarian aid sent to Lebanon by Armenia.
The official handover ceremony was attended by Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan, the Lebanese government’s Secretary General of the High Relief Committee General Bassam Nabulsi, deputies of the Lebanese National Assembly, as well as officials of several Lebanese agencies.
Kostanyan reaffirmed Armenia's solidarity with Lebanon and the Lebanese people, emphasizing that this humanitarian aid is further evidence of the historical friendship, mutual trust and solidarity that unites the two peoples.
He noted that Armenia is ready to continue its contribution to initiatives that relate to addressing the humanitarian problems in Lebanon.
General Bassam Nabulsi expressed his gratitude to the Armenian government for the solidarity provided to Lebanon during this difficult period.
The eighty tons of humanitarian aid provided by Armenia includes medicine and medical supplies, food, as well as other essential goods. The humanitarian cargo, crossing the Margara checkpoint on the Armenia-Turkey state border, was transported to Lebanon by land via Turkey.
