Pashinyan Files Defamation Lawsuits Against Former MPs
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan has filed defamation lawsuits against former MPs Sofia Hovsepyan and Edmon Marukyan, demanding a public apology and monetary compensation.
Pashinyan wants Hovsepyan to publicly apologize for calling him “scum/scoundrel” in a June 9, 2026 article that appeared on the news website hraparak.am.
Pashinyan also wants Hovsepyan to retract a claim she made he knew the results of the June 9 parliamentary election in advance and falsified them. She also called him a liar.
Pashinyan also demands monetary compensation from Hovsepyan - 2 million drams for insult and 4 million drams for non-material damage caused by slander.
Pashinyan wants Marukyan to apologize for calling him an “election fraudster” on his Facebook page.
Marukyan, he also spoke on the electoral issue and called N. Pashinyan an election fraudster on his Facebook page. The Prime Minister considered this expression an insult.
