Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan will attempt to wow visitors today with his drumming skills when his band takes the stage at the Varchafest 2026 young people’s music festival and competition on the shores of Lake Sevan.

Varchaband is a musical group formed by Pashinyan. The name is a direct play on words, combining the first two syllables of "Varchapet" (the Armenian word for prime minister) with the English word "band". The same holds true for the name of the festival.

The festival brings together young musical groups, live music enthusiasts and industry representatives on a single platform.

Their band’s repertoire consists of popular Armenian covers, DJ sets, and original songs. This includes a track titled Real Armenia, Republic of Armenia, which features music set to poems written by Pashinyan.
