Florian Escudié has been appointed France’s ambassador to Armenia, succeeding Olivier Decottignies who held the post from July 2023.

The newly appointed ambassador also spoke about his mission, posting a photo in front of the French embassy in Yerevan.

“It is a pleasure to receive such a warm welcome in Armenia under the beautiful September sun. I look forward to meeting Armenians and learning more about them. I am proud to soon contribute to the enduring bond between France and Armenia,” Escudié wrote on X.

Escudié joined the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January 2004 as Head of NATO and European Defense. From 2007 to 2010, he was First Secretary at the French Embassy in Berlin, and from 2010 to 2013, he was the French Representative at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
