YEREVAN — Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan met with high-level executives from Corporación América Airports to outline new investment projects aimed at scaling up the country's aviation market and boosting tourism.

The meeting included Corporación América CEO Martin Eurnekian, who was accompanied by Marcelo Wende, CEO of Armenia International Airports, and General Manager Sergey Avetisyan.

During the talks, Pashinyan emphasized the strategic value of the company’s ongoing operations in the country, stating that the Armenian government remains highly interested in developing and expanding a mutually beneficial corporate partnership.

Eurnekian briefed government officials on the progress of current initiatives managed by Corporación América, detailing key prospects for expansion. High on the agenda were argeted infrastructure improvements at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Gyumri’s Shirak Airport—both of which currently operate under the company’s concession management.

According to an official statement from the government’s press service, the proposed investment projects are projected to fundamentally reshape Armenia’s transport infrastructure. The ongoing developments aim to achieve several critical milestones:

• Increase passenger traffic and overall airport capacity.
• Elevate service quality to meet modern international standards.
• Drive local tourism and stimulate competitive aviation market growth.

The executive team and the head of government concluded the session by agreeing to maintain active bilateral discussions to finalize the next operational phases of the investment plans.

Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport is undergoing a massive $425 million expansion and modernization project to effectively double the airport's size and transform it into a regional competitive hub.
