Catholicos Aram I Arrives in Armenia for Genocide Commemoration Meeting
Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia arrived in Armenia today to take part in an organizing meeting regarding events to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
After arriving in Etchmiadzin, Catholicos Aram I spoke out against the release of Ramil Safarov form a Hungarian jail and his subsequent pardon by Azerbaijani President Aloiyev.
The church leader also lamented the ongoing loss of innocent life in Syria due to the political and military situation.
He thanked the Armenian government for coming to the aid of Armenians in Syria and noted that the Armenian Church would continue its efforts to assist the Armenian community in Syria which he described as facing days of uncertainty.
