On September 29, visiting Defense Minister of Russia Anatoly Serdyukov met with RA President Serzh Sargsyan and later held widerangi8ng talks with his Armenian counterpart, Seyran Ohanyan.

The two sides discussed issues related to the Armenian-Russian military cooperation, regional security and the existing challenges were discussed. Reference was made to the international situation and the CSTO’s Interaction-2012 military exercises held in Armenia.

According to the Armenian President, the Russian Defense Minister’s visit to Armenia on the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia, and the 15th anniversary of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Aid is another evidence of allied relations between the two countries.

Minister Anatoly Serdyukov availed himself of the opportunity to congratulate the Armenian President and all citizens of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
