Prime Minister Sargsyan: “We mustn't allow dangerous food on our tables”
Before the start of today’s Armenian government cabinet session, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan referred to a recent investigation of the Food Safety Inspectorate revealing that certain cheese producers weren’t following various safety and health guidelines.
PM Sargsyan said that he had received complaints from some cheese makers irritated that other producers were giving Armenian cheese a bad name in the marketplace.
PM Sargsyan added that the aim of the government was to guarantee that dangerous food items wouldn’t appear on Armenian dinner tables.
“We have tightened monitoring of the food sector. There will be no compromises made for any reason in this regard,” he said.
